I am a paralegal and have worked in the field of California Family Law for over twelve years. Upon learning I am a paralegal, frequently people ask questions on how to find law-related information. The final project in this class was to develop a website; we chose the topic. I decided to develop a legal research site with a California family law focus.

There are many different ways to perform research. Legal research is no different. Many books have been written on the subject of legal research and classes are offered at many community colleges. This research guide is intended as a general overview to assist individuals, without a legal background, to find additional legal resources. There is also a brief guide on web research. This site does not cover Federal resources or how to search for legal information in states other than California. Also, it does not cover all available resources, such as journals or law reviews.
